The Short Snorter Project
United States 1 dollar Silver Certificate (Series 1935A) - Submitted by: Tom Sparks
This is the first note in a short snorter that is ten notes long and once belonged to Henry E. "Hank" Heyser. It is taped to
a Trinidad and Tobago one dollar note and is signed on the back by Hollywood tough-guy actor
James Cagney (*).
Dated "3-24-43 - SHORT SNORTER HANK HEYSER, ROBERTS FIELD, LIBERIA."
There was also a newspaper clipping in this lot from the
Air Force Times  August 8, 1977 issue titled "Ah, the Days of
Short Snorters"
which gives a pretty good account of the history and tradition of the short snorter phenomena of WWII.
